Standers Handybar: Independence for the Elderly
When it comes to getting in and out of a car, the elderly and the little kids would have to be the ones that require help. Of the two, the elderly would be a bigger problem since they are heavier and cannot be lifted out of the car like children can be. Most of the elderly also do not want help because they try to hold on to the independence that they used to have when they were younger and stronger. Now that they are old, with weaker muscles and knees, they do not want to accept that fact yet. Who would want to be old and helpless anyway? I am sure, when we grow old, we also would want to be as independent as possible. Even the little things matter, and that would involve getting in and out of the car. The Standers Handybar was made exactly for the purpose. It is sturdy with a non-slip grip that would help you, or an elderly person, get in and out of the car with ease. Some people might view this as a nonessential, but I see this as a very useful little gadget that has not been getting as much recognition as it should get. Picture this: you’re old, you’re weak, you’re getting out of a car and you need to call your granddaughter to assist you. Don’t you think that may be too much of an inconvenience? It’s just getting out of a car. Surely, you would be able to do that with the help of an ingenious invention. When I grow old, I want to be as independent as possible. I would want to have a hold on my independence, no matter how little. I want to get out of my own car with as minimal assistance as possible. I would want my very own Standers Handybar.
